Action research partner

TEGA is an ABioSA action research partner and will support multi-stakeholder dialogues and knowledge co-production for ABS. The short science and art film Unlocking the Transformative Powers of Access and Benefit-Sharing: A Pluriversal Pathway, produced with the South African artist Sally Whines, is a result of this action research.

Building on an inquiry conducted by an international scientific team and about 40 diverse ABS stakeholders, most of them from South Africa and Namibia, the film orients the conversation towards epistemological diversity in biodiversity research, an inclusive and regenerative bioeconomy, and participatory forms of governance grounded in the biocultural diversity of the land.
